Ambassador Fan's Courtesy Meeting with Deputy Chief Dangol: Conversation Focuses on Creative Cities

British Ambassador to Nepal Rob Fenn had a courtesy meeting with the Deputy Chief of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Sunita Dangol today. During the meeting in Deputy Chief Dangol's office, there was a discussion about creative activities involving the youth in development and management.
During the conversation, Deputy Chief Dangol said, 'Kathmandu's genre in the creative city network is film. Through this genre, the youth who work in creation can be directly connected with the government programs.'' During the ambassador's inquiries, he informed about the works such as Sip in Education, Book Free Friday, One Ward One Enterprise, Sip Mela held in Tundikhel.
He, while narrating his experience at the Women of the World Festival organized in the UK, mentioned that the mutual relationship has been strengthened programmatically.
Stating that Kathmandu is preparing to organize the Women of the World (WOW) Festival, he invited the ambassador to observe the festival and Indra Jatra.
Nepali movies have a good image in the international market. During the conversation, Ambassador Fen said, "Nepal is a good place for everyone (West for Ever). Its culture and nature are the content for the promotion of a creative city. We want to work together on this.
Saying that the youth can be connected to the technical and creative fields through the film genre, Ambassador Fen said, it is appropriate to conduct a program to familiarize the youth with the various aspects of development by making them participate in the program as volunteers.
During the meeting, activities such as film workshops, film exhibitions, film festivals, film summits, film teaching, training and training were discussed as possible programs that could be conducted as a mutual project. For mutual understanding of the education system, institutional programs such as school and university level students and teachers, professors' observation visits, community level programs such as original and traditional teaching practices (musical training, singing, makeup) at the public level were discussed.
